Parents from Aberdeen could find that golf clothing is the perfect golf gift for their children, after Paul Lawrie gave a private coaching session to a number of local youngsters today (February 26th).The city's council revealed that the Scottish professional - who won the Open Championship in 1999 - visited the Clubgolf festival at Aberdeen Sports Village, Linksfield Road, to give kids some free tips and advice on improving their golf skills.
And the authority stated that schools in Torry, Kincorth, St Machar and Northfield are set to access to the Active Schools Aberdeen initiative, in partnership with the Paul Lawrie Foundation, the Golf Foundation and Clubgolf over the next four weeks.
This will give them "the opportunity to take part in a golf programme where they can learn and develop their golf skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere".
And if the children they have a love for the game, it could be that parents are inundated with requests to kit them out in new golf trousers, waterproofs and sweaters for them to wear on the course.
