Welsh youngsters with a love of golf are being encouraged to dress in traditional golf apparel as part of a festival.

Traditional golf apparel is set to take centre stage as part of Golf Awareness Week, the Golf Union of Wales has revealed.According to the organisation, the week will run from April 12th to 18th - following the US Masters event - and will give people the chance to take to the fairways for free.
In addition, the body explained that children in the country will be encouraged to dress up in old-fashioned golf sweaters and trousers in Dragon Sport Tri-Golf or Golf Xtreme Festivals.
The participating children will have their photos taken, which will then be entered into a prize draw to win Ryder Cup practice tickets.
Golf Union of Wales director of golf development Hannah Fitzpatrick commented: "It will highlight how much golf has changed over the years to become modern and fashionable with icons such as Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter."
The campaign is being organised by Golf Development Wales, which was established as a result of the country's successful Ryder Cup 2010 bid.
