PGA Merchandise Show showcases golf apparel.
Published: 03 February 2009
Golf apparel company Quagmire Golf draws its inspiration for its designs from the alternative golf clothing scene, it is reported. When talking to the company's co-founder Bobby Pasternak at the recent PGA Merchandise Show, Chris Stevenson said that the company was first thought of when Pasternak "crossed paths" with partner Geoff Tait.
Slam reports that Tait formerly owned a surfer clothing firm and met up with Pasternak when they took a group of teenagers on a golfing trip to Florida.
According to the source, the kids on the trip were wearing clothes which could appeal to young and old.
"The kids were wearing non-traditional brands on the course and the pair recognised a niche: Golf clothes that would be perceived by kids as cool, but hold a broader appeal for older golfers by sticking to golf's dress code," Pasternak noted.
In related news, Polo-Shirts News recently reported that a lot of golfers have a collection of golf clothes which they keep in case the weather is pleasant enough to play often.
