The number of youngsters in need of golf apparel could be set to soar after new funding was announced for the Golf Foundation.

More and more British children could find themselves in need of new golf apparel in the near future, after it was announced that new funding has been provided to the Golf Foundation for its Golf Roots initiative.The programme was launched in 2003 and aims to provide opportunities to young people who may not have previously been given the chance to put on their golf clothing and play the sport.
And it was recently revealed that trustees of the British Golf Industry Association's Grow Golf campaign has awarded the Golf Foundation with £120,000 to put towards the development of Golf Roots.
Commenting on the news, Mike Round, chief executive of the Golf Foundation, said: "We are extremely grateful to the Grow Golf Trustees for supporting Golf Roots and helping us to introduce more children to the sport."
He added that the funding shows how dedicated the industry is to ensuring the future of golf is rosy.
