Golf apparel is due to appear on Coronation Street - but Becky McDonald's outfit might not win favour with many UK courses.

Some golf apparel that is definitely not par for the course is due to feature in an upcoming Coronation Street storyline, reports the Mirror.

The ITV soap is due to feature a scene in which long-running character Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is attempting to sink a putt.

However, he is distracted when his wife, Becky (Katherine Kelly) shows up on the course.

First she puts him off his shot by shouting a cheery greeting during his turn, followed by a warm embrace.

The Mirror adds that she also interferes with his clubs, causing a further annoyance to Steve.

However, it is her selection of some rather avant garde golf apparel that causes the greatest distraction.

Becky is clad in black lace tights, boots and a denim skirt, according to the publication.

In the real world, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the show, donned his own golf apparel earlier in the year.

Web-based fan site Coronation Street Blog explained that Halsall is a golfing enthusiast and was taking part in a charity golf tournament at Slaley Hall in Northumberland.
