Golf clothing need not be "sexy" in order for players to look good on the course, according to one columnist.

Sexy golf clothing could be a step too farGolf clothing can look good without being too "sexy", according to Evan Maloney.

Writing on the Splat! blog, he explains that recent reports have focused on pop star Kylie Minogue's aspirations to make golf clothing sexy.

But he points out that she did not actually say that she hoped to do that.

He explains that what Kylie actually said was: "Maybe I need to get into designing golf wear because, let me tell you, it's not easy to look good on the golf course."

Mr Maloney argues that looking "good" in golf apparel need not mean becoming too "sexy".

"Do you really want to see women in bikinis serving drinks at the tee-off area?" he asks readers.

In April, the Daily Mail reported that Kylie has discovered a passion for golf inspired by her boyfriend, Spanish model Andres Velencoso.

The pair were pictured practising their swing on the fairway sporting matching golf trousers, jackets and caps.
