A Norwegian player has highlighted the importance of wearing on-trend ladies' golf shirts when playing in front of fans on the fairway.

The importance of wearing fashionable ladies' golf shirts has been underlined by Marianne Skarpnord.

According to the Norwegian star, female players should always try to look good because "lots of people see us play".

Speaking to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the 24-year-old said that a player's appearance can reveal a lot about them.

"I just try to be fashionable and wear things that look nice because I like to dress well," she remarked.

Skarpnord made her remarks about ladies' golf fashion ahead of her appearance at next month's US Women's Open.

Trend-spotters may be looking forward to seeing the ladies' golf shirts sported by the likes of Shanshan Feng, Michelle Wie and Katherine Hull, who are all expected to compete.

Taking place at the Oakmont Country Club between July 5th and 11th 2010, the tournament is also set to attract the likes of Kirsty McPherson, Meg Mallon and Louise Friberg.

Last year's US Women's Open was won by Eun Hee Ji.
