More fashionable golf shirts could be in demand in Wales after Welsh star Katherine Jenkins was announced to be a part of the Ryder Cup opening ceremony.

An appearance by Katherine Jenkins at the opening ceremony of the Ryder Cup in Wales later this year could boost the number of fashionable golf shirts sold in the country.The Welsh star has already been pictured in publicity shots sporting ladies' golf shirts and a performance by the singer is likely to bring more attention to the sporting event.
As an official European Ryder Cup supplier, Glenmuir could expect to see more sales of women's golf fashion when the ceremony kicks off on Wednesday September 29th 2010, ahead of the start of the competition.
Jenkins has sung for such illustrious audiences as the Queen and Pope John Paul II.
She said: "To welcome the most prestigious and recognised event in the golfing calendar to Wales is a real honour. I don't think Wales has ever seen anything on this scale so it's very exciting."
The 29-year-old is scheduled to play several dates around the UK this month, including a show at Cheltenham Race Course this weekend.
