Ladies' knitwear has been on parade as part of a catwalk show of golf clothing held as part of Women's Golf Month.

Ladies' knitwear has been a focus of recent golf training camps held by American Express, it has been revealed.

June was declared Women's Golf Month by the financial services provider, with a range of activities to help get ladies involved in the sport.

World Golf News reports that these included golf fashion shows, which is likely to have seen ladies' knitwear go on parade.

Following last year's event, an additional 9.2 per cent of participants took part in the 2008 Women's Golf Month.

Anne Lyndrup, lead organiser on the project, tells World Golf News: "Our goal for Women's Golf Month is to increase the percentage of women playing this great game and to have them discover the fun to be had on the golf course."
