The LPGA is exciting for its range of golf fashion on display, an expert says. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) season teed off today (February 18th) and one writer has revealed that she is wondering what types of golf fashion are going to become particularly popular among the players this year.

Ashley Crain, blogging for Golf Week, said that she hopes the women will prove to be more fashionable than the men on the PGA Tour, who have so far disappointed her.

"Will the ladies be taking it up a few notches in the new year? I sure hope so," she said.

As for the players she expects to lead the way in terms of golf clothing, she explained Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie often pull off interesting outfits and are among the favourites to carry off fashionable ladies' golf shirts or knitwear.

In addition, she encouraged spectators to look out for Ai Miyazato, "who always seems to be wearing a sporty and trendy Japanese ensemble".

The season got underway today in the Honda PTT LPGA Thailand tournament, taking place at the Siam Country Club in Chonburi, Thailand.
