Pink golf clothing is currently in fashion.Bright golf apparel is the big trend among women golfers, a journalist has suggested, following the HSBC Women's Champions event in Singapore over the weekend.

Commenting on the golf fashion on show during the tournament, Ashley Crain said that "every kind of pink you could possibly imagine was splashed over the fairways".

She added: "I am thrilled to see the ladies looking vivacious again."

It could be that keen women golfers decide to invest in brightly-coloured golf clothing to make sure they stay in fashion on the course this year.

Striking golf waterproofs, trousers or sweaters could become increasingly in demand as a result.

Ai Miyazato took home the championship after shooting a ten-under-par 278 and in doing so became the first LPGA player since 1966 to win successive season-opening events on the tour.

She showed off the trophy in a fashionable white golf shirt.

Christie Kerr came in second place following her eight-under 280.
