Pink 'important for female golf apparel'

Pink is an important colour for female golf apparel, it has been noted.

Writing for the Houston Chronicle, Diane Cowen said that the colour "is so prominent in women's golf apparel that it's considered one of the basics, along with white, black and tan".

However, it is not just these colours and shades which are proving popular among female golfers - and the writer noted that colours such as vivid blue, green, purple and orange are also often seen on golf fashion worn by women taking to the course.

Accompanying the article was a picture of female golfer Michelle Wie, who won the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Mexico over the weekend.

In the shot, the golfer is sporting a bright pink golf shirt teamed with checked golf shorts and white trainers.

Speaking to the source, senior director of global apparel at sports giant Adidas Tiss Dahan said that purple is a popular colour this season, with checked patterns and little details also often being seen in golf apparel.

Women's golf apparel fans may be interested to learn that pop star Kylie Minogue has previously expressed an interest in designing her own range of golf clothing.
