'Avoid cheap imitations' when buying golf clothingAn expert has advised people to avoid "cheap imitations" when looking to purchase golf clothing.

Writing for Forbes, columnist Tom Barlow suggested individuals looking to save money on their golf apparel would be wise to avoid travelling discount shows as the deals on offer are often not as impressive as some might believe.

Mr Barlow advised readers to "watch out for second-rate gear" and said people should remember items "aren't bargains if they won't stand up to use".

His words might encourage players to instead turn to Glenmuir, something even those who are not keen participants in the sport may be deciding to do.

Michael Goldstein, writing for Stuff.co.nz's The Golf Nut blog, recently stated that a trip to the southern US indicated to him that golf clothing is increasingly becoming accepted by the mainstream, something he suggested could be down to the country's perception of the sport as being "cool".
