Following his nightmare mistake against the USA in the Fifa World Cup, Robert Green put on golf apparel and headed out on to the links.

The day after his embarrassing error in the Fifa World Cup match against USA, England goalkeeper Robert Green could be seen out on the links in golf clothing.

Despite it being South Africa's wintertime currently, Green was able to wear navy blue shorts and a white striped performance golf shirt, along with a wide-brimmed sun hat.

He certainly looked far more at peace in his golf apparel than he did on Saturday evening after his goalkeeping howler let Clint Dempsey's long-range shot trickle into the goal.

That error levelled up the game at 1-1 after skipper Steven Gerrard had given England the lead, but neither team was able to score again before the end of the game.

Green was not the only footballer to head out on the links in golf clothing, as he was partnered in the round by fellow goalkeeper Joe Hart, while strikers Wayne Rooney and Peter Crouch were also on the course.
