Rookie Tour member Rickie Fowler's renowned golf clothing has led a "legion" of young golfers to imitate his unique sense of golf fashion.Speaking to the Boston Herald, the young golfer explained how he had seen "some kids" introduce a lot more verve into their golf apparel.
"I would love to be a role model for young kids … I'm trying to get some more crazy colours out there and have some fun," the 21-year-old told the publication.
He went on to say that, besides his ongoing golf fashion antics, his biggest challenge this season has been becoming acclimatised to the range of new courses on the PGA Tour.
After first playing golf at the age of three, a dirtbike injury shifted the young player's focus away from his favourite sport of motocross, reports About.com. A highly successful amateur career was capped by his Tour debut this season.
The 21-year-old also stands a small chance of making the US Ryder Cup team for this year, depending on the quality of his performance at the upcoming Deutsche Bank Championship.
