Golf apparel can make a statement, but garish golf trousers could be a step too far for some players.

Careful selection of golf apparel can allow players to make a personal statement while on the fairway, it has been claimed.Writing for the Explorer, James Sandefer explains that there are some golf fashion decisions open to individuals keen to make an impression on their fellow players.
"Scottish knickers and knee socks are OK in Scotland," he advises readers.
He adds that "paste white golf shoes and multi-coloured houndstooth-patterned pants is an irrational combination".
Some of his other suggestions could put his observations regarding golf apparel in some doubt, however.
Mr Sandefer also calls for larger balls - to allow them to remain visible on long drives - and titanium tees that are less likely to break.
While golf fashion favourite Ian Poulter might seem like the sort to sport houndstooth golf trousers on the fairway, he also opted for the Scottish look earlier this year.
In July, Poulter took the opportunity of the Scottish Open to launch his own range of golf trousers emblazoned with tartan approved by the Scottish Tartans Authority.
