Wearing items of golf apparel could well be a new experience for the long-time Judas Priest member KK Downing

Golf clothing could well be on the cards for a member of Judas Priest, who is investing in a course in Shropshire.

KK Downing, who has been in the Birmingham band since they were formed around 40 years ago, is due to be involved in the five-star course after falling in love with the sport while touring.

"I've played golf all over the world on some of the best golf courses and I want a course to match those. I'm not cutting corners. I’m aiming at golfers who are passionate about the game," he said.

The course is likely to be very popular as no more than two groups of sportspeople will be allowed on to the facility in one day and they are promised "exclusivity of the course", the Birmingham Post notes.

Judas Priest played last year's Download Festival at Donington Park alongside KISS, Bullet For My Valentine and Motorhead.
