Professional golfers in San Antonio are dreaming of sponsorship for their golf clothing to fund their participation in the ball game, it has been reported.

The Express-News explains that fierce competition has arisen in the area among a number of rising stars in the sport.

And this has left them looking to funding in places such as their golf apparel through sponsorship opportunities.

"Simply put, the field of aspiring professionals has never been deeper," the publication contends.

With the price of having a "continuing presence" put at a five-figure dollar sum, sponsorship prospects on golf clothing could be the key to success for some of these budding stars.

One professional to have seen their sponsorship funds take a hit recently is Tiger Woods after it was revealed that Buick will no longer sponsor the star's golf bag.

However, his golf apparel continues to be sponsored by Nike, according to reports.
