Players will be wearing golf clothing as they take part in a charity day being held at Melton Mowbray Golf Club.

Golf clothing is set to be worn at the Melton Mowbray Golf Club.Golf fashion is set be on show in Melton in Leicestershire as a charity function is being organised.

The 19th annual golf day is being held by the Melton Mowbray Lions and all of the money raised will be given to underprivileged children in the area, the Melton Times reports.

A number of prizes are on offer, including four ball golf vouchers, golf clothing, restaurant vouchers and days away.

People can sponsor a tee on the course for £50 or donate a gift, while entry to the event is £25 per person.

Due to the charitable nature of the day, Melton Mowbray Golf Club - which was established in 1925 - will be open to non-members.

It comes after it was announced a group of ex-Manchester United players are taking to the greens in support of Children's Hospice South West and the Bristol Moonstone Appeal.

Alex Stepney, Denis Irwin, David May will be among those in attendance, the Gazette reported.
