The credit crunch holds no fear for those giving golf gifts this Christmas, reports the Examiner.

Whether giving tees or an entire set of rain-proof golf outerwear, readers are told to expect something to suit their budget.

Golf outerwear is suggested for those who are either immune to economic turbulence, or who are unfazed by the credit crunch.

The Examiner explains that a good suit of waterproof golf clothing "is a must" if heading off to Ireland or Scotland for a round.

However, it adds that something as simple as a pack of tees or pens to mark golf balls with can be fine as golf gifts at the lower end of the budget range.

"There's no shortage of holiday gift ideas for the golfers on your list," the publication tells shoppers.
