World number one Luke Donald has today (December 9th) boosted his chances of finishing top of both the American and European tour money lists.Donald has already ended the season in pole position in the US and now needs to finish in the top nine at the Dubai World Championship to achieve this unprecedented feat.
The English professional - who could lose his position in the European list if he fails to secure a top-nine finish and Rory McIlroy wins the tournament - slipped down the leaderboard yesterday after an opening par round of 72.
However, he today shot a four under round of 68 to leave him handily placed in joint 12th place moving forward.
"Just personally in terms of my mental approach, that was huge," he stated after stepping off the course.
Meanwhile, Glenmuir golf apparel fan Paul Lawrie slipped down to joint fifth after shooting a one over par second round of 73.
