Sergio Garcia will hope to make the 2012 Ryder Cup team

Sergio Garcia's golf form is improving Sergio Garcia will be putting on his golf clothing to compete in the Ryder Cup next year.

That is the opinion of Jose Maria Olazabal, who will captain the European team in the historic event at Chicago's Medinah Country Club in September 2012.

Garcia has enjoyed a slight renaissance in recent times to rise back up to number 49 in the world rankings after a torrid period when he took a hiatus from the game last year after slipping out of the top 75.

The Spaniard has worked his way up the leaderboard with solid displays at the The Open and US Open this campaign - and his compatriot Olazabal - who won The Masters twice in the 1990s - sees no reason why he cannot force his way into Ryder Cup contention.

"I am sure that Sergio will be in the Ryder Cup. He's got a special charisma and a solid game. He helps the team and he needs to enjoy himself on the course," he stated.
