Golf news: Woods voted Athlete of the Decade in AP poll.

Golfer Tiger Woods has been named Athlete of the Decade in a poll carried out by the Associated Press (AP).In a survey of 142 American sports editors, the world's number one golfer secured 56 votes. In his ten-year career, Woods has notched up an impressive record.
He has donned his golf apparel and teed to victory in 12 major championships, winning 64 tournaments overall.
Second on the AP list was cyclist Lance Armstrong, who has famously battled cancer and won the Tour de France seven times, with tennis player Roger Federer coming in third and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps coming in fourth.
Armstrong and Federer did not get as many votes as Woods between them, showing the golfer's continued popularity.
Woods has been ranked as the number one golfer in the world for a total of 236 weeks and has sat atop the ranking for a total of 578 weeks in his entire career.
