The look and design of golf shirts is set to change this season, it has been noted.Writing for Golf.com, Woody Hochswender reports that after a number of seasons which saw stripes and "graphic colour-block" patterns the look of choice in golf clothing, some manufacturers are changing their tack.
He notes that some golf clothing firms are moving into producing shirts which are "elaborately woven", as well as focusing on knit Jacquard golf shirts that are a combination of performance and styling.
Mr Hochswender goes on to say that a "typical old-school" cotton Jacquard shirt can "look good in the clubhouse" but is not practical for the course.
"Today's versions have the moisture-wicking, UV protection and anti-microbial aspects of the top performance shirts," he said.
In related news, golfer Padraig Harrington has "shot a flawless 66" in a tournament, reports the Irish Times.
The newspaper says that "back-to-back birdies" gave the golfer a perfect start to the WGC-CA Championship.
