Hugh Grant hit the links in golf clothingOne newspaper has highlighted how British actor Hugh Grant had the pleasure of playing alongside top pro Ian Poulter, who is well known for wearing some often outrageous golf trousers.

The Notting Hill, Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral star may have found that his golf apparel paled in comparison to the bold colours that Poulter normally wears when he lined up with him in the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am.

And English publication the Independent was quick to highlight the golfer's penchant for peculiar and often colourful golf trousers.

"[He] did not fare as well as he would have hoped alongside he of the fancy trousers, Ian Poulter, and he of the fancy footwork, Michael Flatley," explained the newspaper.

The daily highlighted how Grant has a seven handicap and is often seen in celebrity golf tournaments.

In terms of the pros playing at the event, it was Darren Clarke who came out on top at the contest, but he chose to wear fairly subtle golf clothing when he received his award from JP McManus.
