Golf gifts can still be bought in time for Christmas, friends and family of golfing enthusiasts have been told.

With the big day arriving at the end of this week, suggestions of suitable golf gifts have ranged from the mass-market to the particularly niche this weekend.

For family members looking for a last-minute stocking stuffer, Mick Gyure's Everyday Golfer's Guide to Shooting Lower Scores is one recommendation.

This is said to be ideal for either players or instructors - with Gyure's own instructor now using it as a teaching manual for his other clients.

Alternatively, there is still just time to get in a last-minute bid on what could be the most expensive piece of golfing equipment ever sold.

The Scotty Cameron Handmade Putter auction is due to close on Monday evening, allowing just enough time for it to be delivered.

But with the initials of the PGA Tour player who it originally belonged to engraved into the putter head, the seller 2nd Swing predicts a high final price.
