Britons could need new golf apparel for a golfing holiday.New golf clothing could be increasingly in demand among keen British golfers who are inspired to go on a golfing trip to Puerto Rico in the near future.

The Central American island plays host to the Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular this week and in the run-up to the tournament, the PGA Tour website described the country as being a "golfer's paradise".

According to the site, the location is home to 23 golf courses, while work on a further 17 championship-level venues is currently underway, with many designed by some of the sport's legends such as Greg Norman and Gary Player.

"Whether a duffer or an avid golfer, Puerto Rico offers a varied mix of courses that make golfing a memorable and exciting experience," the organisation stated.

However, those hoping to swap the rain and cold weather of UK fairways for courses in the Puerto Rican sunshine may need to invest in some new performance golf shirts from Glenmuir - the European Ryder Cup supplier - to ensure they can play comfortably in the Caribbean climate.
