Tiger Wood's wants to open 'amazing courses worldwide'Professional golfer Tiger Woods has visited the location of his first oceanfront golf course.

Along with his Tiger Woods design team, the player went to the Punta Brava in Mexico which is to be the site of his new club, the private Champions Club.

Plans for the new course, which is located 65 miles south of San Diego, were first announced in October last year.

Woods said that his goal was to design a "collection of amazing golf courses" around the world.

"It's a rare opportunity to be able to put 17 greens or tees on the ocean and have eight shots playing over the Pacific. Couple that with views of the ocean from every hole and you have a place that's pretty special," he said of the new course.

The Punta Brava course is hoped to be completed in early 2011 and will be an 18-hole par 70 oceanfront green fairway.

After a hard day on the course, golfers will be able to take advantage of the wellness centre and spa, as well as numerous restaurants.

Those planning on visiting Wood's new course could invest in new items of golf apparel such as a golf sweater, to keep them warm and stylish while teeing off.
