Tennis star Rafael Nadal may be more famous for his tennis style than his golf fashion, but the player does enjoy hitting the links.

Tennis fans may be interested to hear that Rafael Nadal often throws on golf clothing and heads out on to the links with his friends for a round of golf.

Writing for the Independent, Paul Newman revealed that the enormously successful Spaniard - who is considered one of the best clay court players of all time - shuns the celebrity lifestyle.

One of the ways the tennis star likes to enjoy himself is putting on golf apparel and playing a round with his circle of friends.

This week, the world number two revealed in a press conference that he will begin wearing a specially-designed ultra-lightweight watch by Richard Mille, which weighs 20 grams and each of the 50 timepieces produced will retail at $535,000 (£375,000).

There has not been any suggestion that he will introduce any golf fashion into his tennis outfits as yet.

Nadal was born in Mallorca in 1986 and turned professional in 2001, playing left-handed despite being naturally right-handed.
