English golfer Roger Chapman topped the leaderboard on the opening round of the Handa Senior Masters and he chose to dress subtly on the day with a mix of neutral-coloured golf clothing. The 51-year-old carded 69 for the round at Stapleford Park, near Melton Mowbray, to finish on five under par, although his softly-coloured golf apparel did not betray his devastating performance on the links.
Chapman opted for grey-blue golf trousers and a light pink men's knitwear jumper teamed with a white cap and shoes.
Afterwards, he commented: "I hit out of bounds on the 11th which gave me a six but overall I played nicely. I'll take two more rounds like that and I'd be very happy."
The English player is two shots ahead of nearest rival John Harrison at the European Seniors Tour event.
One of the favourites to win this tournament has to be Thai golfer Boonchu Ruangkit, since the veteran has won the past three competitions on the tour.
