Ryder Cup shirts for 3 wildcards in 2010

European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie has been given three wildcard choices for the selection of his team to play the tournament in 2010.The captain has received an extra choice for who he wants to take a place in the 12-man team following a meeting of the players' committee, which met at the County Louth club in Baltray ahead of the Irish Open which begins this Thursday (May 14th).
Montgomerie commented: "I am delighted that I have one more option and very happy that I have got what I was looking for."
The European team will be trying to win back the trophy from the US and Montgomerie hopes that these extra picks will enable the continent to put out its strongest team.
In other golf news, US golf legend Arnold Palmer has urged Tiger Woods to make the trip across the Atlantic to check out the Celtic Manor course prior to the tournament next year, Wales Online reported.
He made his plea at the opening ceremony of the new Wales National Centre of Excellence, which is situated at Celtic Manor.
