Golf clothing could soon help improve your swing, it has emergedA player's swing can now be improved by their golf clothing, thanks to sensors fitted into the garments, it has been revealed.

The Irish Times reports research conducted by Dublin City University in which sensors in golf clothing have been used to analyse players' swings.

Associate professor Noel O'Connor explains that this has become more affordable with a wider variety of sensors available to consumers in recent years.

Such devices are able to detect body temperature and heart rate, along with location through the use of global positioning.

"Already we have developed wearable sensors which are built into clothes that can monitor the posture of the wearer," Professor O'Connor tells the Irish Times.

The publication adds that the chance to have your golf swing automatically analysed is a possibility along with more general posture improvements for office workers.

Michael Kelly recently wrote for the Irish Times that low-impact sports such as golf can provide useful exercise for asthma sufferers.
