Golf news: Pablo Martin top in European Tour eventSpanish golfer Pablo Martin is leading the South African Open Championship after the second round of the event.

Martin is the only player to don his golf clothing to scoop titles on the European Tour as an amateur and a professional golfer after he teed to victory in the recent Alfred Dunhill Championship.

In the second round of the South Africa event, Martin secured four birdies - on the 10th, 12th, 16th and 18th holes, according to match reports - also managing to get a bogie on the first.

A win at the South African Open Championship would give the 23-year-old golfer back-to-back victories.

In 2008, Martin took part in the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun, the Puerto Rico Open run by Banco Popular - in which he came 50th - and the Arnold Palmer Invitational by Mastercard, in which he came 21st.

He scooped more than $60,000 (£36,900) in winnings last year.
