Golf fashion has been focused on stripes recentlyStripes have been the in-thing in golf fashion in recent times, it has been noted.

The suggestion comes from senior buyer Rod Castely in an interview with the Times.

He explains that a major part of the role of a buyer is to track trends in the marketplace and respond by buying in stock for a retailer.

And, in recent months, golf fashion trends have been focused on stripes, he adds.

"If you were the golf shirt buyer, you would have experienced fantastic growth last season," he tells the Times.

"Striped golf shirts were massive."

While he notes the popularity of shirts, he adds that his own area of expertise is in outerwear.

This is due to the extra challenge of finding a good product at the right price, according to the buyer.

One person known for making her own golf fashion statement is Paula Creamer, recently listed by the Times in a shortlist of pink-wearing sports stars.
