Tiger Woods has won a tournament while wearing red golf clothingTiger Woods' lucky red golf clothing may be back in favour after he ended his two-year title drought.

The American triumphed in the Chevron World Challenge by one shot after hitting a final round of three-under par that included a birdie-birdie finish.

Woods - who is famed for wearing red performance golf shirts on the final day of competitions - had not emerged victorious in any of the last 26 tournaments he had played prior to this.

This poor run of form had seen him drop out of the top 50 in the world, but he has been elevated to 21st after this victory.

When asked how it felt to win an event after so long, Woods merely remarked that it was "awesome".

The sportsman continued by saying it is only the third time this year he has been in contention for a win and so he was glad to do it.

Elsewhere, Lee Westwood successfully defended his Nedbank Golf Challenge title with victory in South Africa.
