Blue golf clothing proved to be a lucky charm for English golf's newest star yesterday (October 16th).

Tom Lewis teamed a tropical blue polo shirt with navy trousers and cap along with white shoes as he produced a stunning performance in the final round of the Portugal Masters - played at the Oceanico Victoria course - to land his very first professional title.

The 20-year-old shot a closing round of 65 to finish the tournament two strokes clear of his nearest challenger, Spaniard Rafael Cabrera-Bello on 21 under par.

Lewis' success was in no small part down to a late surge where he came from behind to storm into the lead by posting birdies on five of the last seven holes.

And to cap it all off, this means the player, who shot to fame with a superb showing as an amateur at The Open earlier this year, has won his maiden professional event in just his third start - two quicker than Tiger Woods.
