Golf apparel is being sported by writers from across the globe

Purchasing new golf apparel may be a priority for a group of journalists after it was announced they are sampling the best courses Northern Ireland has to offer.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, 16 writers from around the globe are currently in the country playing on the fairways most famously enjoyed by the likes of Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy.

Northern Ireland has been hailed by many commentators as the current home of golf, as three players from the province - Clarke, McIlroy and Graeme McDowell - have all won one of the coveted major tournaments in recent times.

Therefore, the lucky writers - from titles such as Golf Digest China and Golf European Monthly - are likely to have updated their golf fashion range to make sure they look their best on such prestigious fairways.

This event forms part of the Home of Champions tourism promotion campaign - and it is hoped many more visitors will flock to the nation's courses in the near future.
