Glenmuir Renews Support For Clubgolf

Glenmuir, one of Europe’s leading golf apparel brands, has renewed its support for Scotland’s junior golf programme ‘clubgolf’ – a partnership between the Scottish Golf Union, the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association, the Professional Golfers' Association, the Golf Foundation and sportscotland.

Some 35 staff and volunteers at clubgolf will sport a variety of branded Glenmuir clothing throughout their numerous activities this year.

Andy Bough, marketing director for Scottish-based Glenmuir, said: “In an age when children face so much choice about what to do with their leisure time, it is important for golf to position itself as a healthy, fun sporting activity.

“Thousands of children have been introduced to golf through clubgolf and we are delighted to be associated with the organisation.

“Glenmuir has a proud Scottish golfing history and clubgolf continues to grow golf at grass roots level in the country, so in that respect we are a perfect match.”

Glenmuir’s has supplied clubgolf with clothing under its ‘own use’ scheme, which offers large discounts for items used by golf professionals and their staff.

The clubgolf programme was launched in 2003 to fulfil the Scottish Government’s pledge to create the opportunity for every child in Scotland to experience golf, as
part of Scotland’s commitment to the game which formed part of the successful
bid to host the 2014 Ryder Cup.  

It offers children a structured programme which supports their early development as golfers and its player development pathway ensures opportunities for talented players to progress further based on their potential, commitment and achievement.
