Glenmuir Autumn/Winter ’09 – overview
Leading golf apparel brand Glenmuir has launched 24 key new products in its Autumn/Winter 2009 collection – and also demonstrates its growing emphasis on garment performance with the introduction of two new hi-tech fabrics.
ThermoCool™ and CoolFlex® fabrics have been introduced across the stunning new men’s Performance collection to give golfers a wider selection of performance fabrics and layering options.
The new Performance Tech polo features ThermoCool™ consisting of a unique blend of hollow and solid fibres that interact with the golfer. When the user is hot and perspiring, the fabric allows evaporation, keeping the user cool and comfortable.
When the user is cold, the fabric traps body heat and creates a barrier to external cooler temperatures, keeping the user warm and temperature-regulated – known as thermo-buffering.
Other new additions to the Glenmuir Men’s Performance range include the long-sleeved Slaley and the short-sleeved version, Skibo, which both feature the CoolFlex® performance fabric, which combines lightness and stretchability with outstanding moisture-wicking.
The popular Performance Club and Performance Team (incorporating Coolmax active fabric), HiCool ® Classic and Hi-Cool ® Base shirts have all been updated with new colours.
Launching the AW09 catalogue, Glenmuir Marketing Director, Andy Bough, said: “We have developed our sport-fashion styling into the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection as a direct response to demand from golfers, who clearly want to have the same styling and high performance from their winter wear as well as their summer clothing.
“With the introduction of the new intelligent fabric technologies of ThermoCool™ and CoolFlex® - together with our RainBloc® and StormBloc® weatherproof systems - we are able to deliver outstanding levels of comfort and performance across our entire Men’s , Ladies and Glenmuir Kids’ ranges.
Glenmuir has introduced four new shirts to its flagship MEN’S 1891 COLLECTION – the 100% double mercerised Formby, Grove, Hillside and long-sleeve Tralee.
All feature a luxurious soft-feel cotton jersey fabric with anti-curl rib collar and form the cornerstone of a seven-shirt collection, in which the popular Howth, Valderrama and Dublin shirts all benefit from new colour upgrades.
With more than a century-old knitwear tradition, Glenmuir adds five distinctive new sweaters to its 11-product MEN’S FASHION LAMBSWOOL collection.
The Alwoodley zip through cardigan features distinctive back panel striping; the Rye boasts a contemporary squares intarsia design on front and back; the Silloth includes diamond detailing on the shoulders; and the Ashridge and Ferndown both feature more classic diamond intarsia panels.
Building on the seasonal popularity of its Performance fleeces & LINED SWEATERS collection, Glenmuir introduces the attractive new Lindrick and Fulford sweaters, which both feature the weather-beating StormBloc ® technology. The lined sweaters were a sell out category for Glenmuir in the Autumn Winter 2008 season.
Recognising the fact that its Ladies Collection is the company’s fastest-growing category, Glenmuir features nine exciting new knitwear products in its Autumn/Winter 09 catalogue.
The LADIES FASHION LAMBSWOOL range welcomes the contemporary and feminine Julia, Theres, Victoria, Nathalie, Hannah – each featuring the brand new light weight lambswool, subtle design, pattern details and shaped fit, while contrasting side panels and sleeve detailing are to the fore in the new Jackie cardigan and sleeveless Audrey gilet from the best selling LADIES FASHION COTTON KNITWEAR range.
For lady golfers looking for added protection from inclement weather, the new Windflex Stretch windshirt is unveiled, offering essential ease of movement and rain-beating StormBloc ® technology, while two new LADIES LINED SWEATERS make their debut, the Caroline and Emily.
