Glenmuir Launches New Men’s And Ladies’ Performance Trousers
Published: 30 August 2008
Golf trousers can often be a triumph of style over substance - and in the quest to conform to latest fashion trends, many look good but perform poorly.
But this year’s Autumn/Winter ’08 apparel collection from Glenmuir features four new performance trousers which, while guaranteeing outstanding comfort and style, have been designed specifically to deliver exceptional sporting performance. The Lanark, Scotland-based company, one of Europe’s leading golf apparel brands, has introduced two new men’s trousers, Braid and Fidra and two ladies’ versions - Grace and Simone .
The Braid and Grace are designed in a flat front style from 96% cotton and 4% elastane, for a comfortable and flexible fit. Both feature a water-repellent Teflon coating and a lining made from DuPont Thermolite - a hollow core fibre that provides extraordinary warmth for its weight while remaining extremely breathable.
The technology features heavily in the outdoor market, where top-range clothing and sleeping bags are able to remain light while guaranteeing warmth and weather-beating properties – and Glenmuir is dedicated to bringing this fabric development to golfers.
Braid features two front pockets and two buttoned back pockets and comes in black, graphite and navy colour options with the renowned Glenmuir 1891 logo embroidered on the centre back belt loop and an engraved metal badge at the back pocket.
The trousers come in sizes UK 30in-42in waist and three leg lengths for a suggested retail price of £50.
Grace comes in three colour choices – black, navy and latte – and has two front pockets and one buttoned back pocket with a Glenmuir 1891 engraved metal badge at the back pocket.
The trousers are available in sizes UK 8-18 with three leg lengths for a suggested retail price of £50.
The sport-technical Fidra and Simone trousers are manufactured from crease resistant and non-iron Easycare Teflon-coated 98% polyester and 2% elastane. The construction and finish of the fabric reduces shrinkage.
Both trousers have seam detailing on the legs and articulation darts at the knee – a modern and popular feature - and the Glenmuir 1891 woven tab on the centre back belt loop.
Fidra has two front and two back pockets plus a zipped side pocket and the trousers are available in three colours – silver, graphite and dark navy – in UK 30in-42in waist and three leg lengths for a suggested retail price of £46.
Simone benefits from two front and two back pockets and a zipped pocket on the right leg and comes in black, navy and latte in sizes UK 8-18 with three leg lengths for a suggested retail price of £46.
Andy Bough, Glenmuir Marketing Director, said: “It is very important for Glenmuir that our new range of trousers offers men and lady golfers outstanding performance in practical fabrics and colours.
“But we also recognise that modern styling plays an ever-important role in the customer buying process and our new performance trousers deliver on both counts – they look good and perform even better.”
Glenmuir offers a total of 12 different trouser, shorts, skort and Capri pants products for men and lady golfers in a range of exciting colours.
