Whether you’ve won or lost, what better way to wrap up your round than with the traditional visit to the 19th hole — AKA the clubhouse bar.

The 19th hole drink is a golfing tradition almost as old as the game itself, and it’s one to be savoured. Next time you hit the 19th, why not try out one of these top tipples…?

Nineteenth Hole
We couldn’t put together a list of 19th hole drinks without mentioning the obvious choice: the Nineteenth Hole. A mix of gin, dry Vermouth and sweet Vermouth, this isn’t a cocktail that usually gets much attention, but it should. And what better way to give it the respect it deserves than by ordering it when you next hit the clubhouse?

Martini
For those of us who want to slip straight from pretending to be Tiger Woods to pretending to be James Bond in one swift motion, why not try the Martini? Shaken or stirred; straight up or ice, this is a drink that comes with choices — so make yours count and order this classic exactly how you want it.

Old Fashioned
This classic needs little introduction. A drink that’s been around for over two centuries, the Old Fashioned is something that we can imagine frontiersmen sipping after a hard day out on the prairie. And while we may have swapped frontiers for golf courses, these days the Old Fashioned still makes for a great drink after a hard day on the fairways.

Bloody Mary
If you’re having an early game, or maybe still feeling a little groggy, why not try a Bloody Mary? The traditional morning-after-the-night-before tipple tastes great before or after a round of golf, and with all the tomato juice, celery, and olives going on it’s basically one of your five-a-day…

Arnold Palmer
Named after the legendary American golfer, the Arnold Palmer is a refreshing choice if you’re staying off the alcohol. The mix of ice-tea and lemonade is a definitive golf course taste and is sure to hit the spot after 18 holes in the sun — just make sure it’s served over plenty of ice and with a twist of lemon.

Rusty Nail
Although it sounds like it needs a tetanus shot, the Rusty Nail makes for an excellent swift drink at the 19th. A simple mix of Scotch and Drambuie over ice, this is a smoother taste than the name suggests and makes a warming alternative to some of the more mainstream options at the clubhouse bar.
