Glenmuir Delight As Lawrie Reigns In Spain

Glenmuir, the leading Scottish golfwear brand, today welcomed the return to winning ways of its sponsored Tour representative and 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie.

Lawrie captured the Open de Andalucia de Golf by Turkish Airlines with a 12-under par total – his first win in nine years – with a one stroke victory at Parador de Málaga Golf.

The victory delighted Lanark-based Glenmuir, whose marketing director, Brian Mair, said: "Paul is a fantastic ambassador for Glenmuir and someone who does so much for junior sport in Scotland.

“It's terrific to see him playing so well and winning again on Tour. He’s proven in the past that he’s capable of winning the biggest events in the calendar and let’s hope the form stays with him through the season.”

Paul, the 1999 Open Champion, advanced to 150th in the Official World Golf Rankings and also secured his place in the Volvo World Match Play Championship at Finca Cortesin GC, Casares, Andalucia, in May.

The Aberdeen-based player regularly makes a personal appearance for Glenmuir at The Open and is a proud wearer of the Scottish company's shirts and knitwear. He last won the Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open in 2002.
