Glenmuir Brand Reaches To The Other Side Of The World

Glenmuir’S Long Distance Customer

18 October 2010 1 minute read Glenmuir Brand Reaches To The Other Side Of The World
Scotland-based Glenmuir has continued to establish its credentials as a leading international golfwear brand by supplying a significant order to its farthest customer - the stunning two-course Barnbougle Dunes GC in Tasmania, Australia.

Meandering between towering coastal dunes in a dramatic setting on Tasmania's North East coast, the award-winning Barnbougle Dunes public links course is rated among the best in the world and is some 10,789 miles from Glenmuir's Lanark headquarters.

Glenmuir is supplying a major order of polo shirts and knitwear for the Pro Shop at the complex, where a second superb course, Barbougle Lost Farm, opens this Winter.

The established and widely revered Barnbougle Dunes course was designed by legendary American golf architect, Tom Doak, and Australian Mike Clayton.

In the tradition of the world's great public courses - the Old Course at St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Pinehurst - Barnbougle Dunes is completely public access and so Glenmuir’s apparel will be showcased to its wide range of global visitors.

Brian Mair, Glenmuir marketing director, said: "Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm are incredible courses in a stunning location, with the former regularly ranked among the best courses in the world - so we're delighted to have a significant retail presence there.

"This again demonstrates the quality and heritage that continues to establish Glenmuir as a global golf brand. We've appointed distributors and opened accounts recently in India and Canada, but Barbougle Dunes GC is certainly our farthest customer yet!"

Lambswool knitwear forms a major part of the order from Barnbougle Dunes and it would take more than 23 million sheep, laid nose to tail, to stretch from Glenmuir's factory in Lanark to the golf club doors on the other side of the world in Bridport, a small Tasmanian fishing village overlooking Bass Strait.

Glenmuir, the preferred supplier of shirts and knitwear to the victorious European Ryder Cup Team, has just introduced its stunning new Spring/Summer 2011 collection, which features more than 40 exciting new garments – ranging from innovative Performance Shirts to leather belts and a capsule Junior collection.

Renowned for its fully co-ordinating colour palettes, Glenmuir's new seasonal collection is characterised by stunning warm colour schemes - including Mango, Hot Pink and bright Kingfisher blue.
