Glenmuir’s Glorious Ryder Cup - how do you top that?

How the company turns the Ryder Cup legacy into business for the European golf industry

17 October 2006 1 minute read Glenmuir’s Glorious Ryder Cup - how do you top that?

Glenmuir is already well into the design and production runs for the PGAsE Team Championships scheduled for the week of 13th November at the spanking new Roda Golf & Beach Resort in Murcia.

Barely pausing for breath since its unequalled commercial triumph at the Ryder Cup, Glenmuir's corporate sponsorship and industry leadership programme is now focused on the PGAs of Europe International Team Championship and Congress in Spain next month.

The PGAsE Team Championship is not only an important gathering for the hard-working stalwarts of the European golf community, it also shares the stage with the Annual Festival of Golf 2006 Conference, which this year has as its theme The Environment of Golf.

This is the 3rd year running that Glenmuir have supported this event, both financially and by providing clothing for the teams from 12 of the competing 25 countries.

Glenmuir's commercial support for the PGAs of Europe is a practical way of showing commitment to the activities and development of the company's major customer group, PGA Professionals. It is also hard to beat as a means of networking with national golf bodies in existing and in particular emerging markets. This has proved particularly successful as the sport and the industry develop in Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean.

In terms of competitive sportsmanship, the sponsorship of the PGAsE, along with the PGAs in the UK, France, Germany, and Poland gives two key benefits to Professionals: support for their training and development programmes, and the opportunity to play in high level competition against fellow Professionals.

It's a logical pan-European extension of Glenmuir's support for the Club Pros' Championship for customers in the British Isles and Ireland.

"Coming at the end of such a fantastic Ryder Cup year for Glenmuir, the PGAs of Europe International Team Championship provides us with the ideal forum to continue our commitment to the game of golf across Europe," explains Graham Hayward, Glenmuir's Export Sales Development Director. "The Ryder Cup is of course our headline sponsorship, but Glenmuir is committed to the development of the game of golf at all levels and we are very pleased to be supporting the PGAs of Europe again this year.

"Glenmuir is a company whose commitment to the sport, the industry, and to PGA Professionals around the world has earned a position for it at the heart of the game of golf. We support the Ryder Cup as the pinnacle of our sport, and we support PGA Pros as the people who, at grass roots level, are ensuring the game continues to grow and develop."
