The cream of European golf at all levels of the game will be wearing Glenmuir throughout late August and mid September, with staff at the Lanark-based company working flat-out to provide clothing for teams in the Vivendi Seve Trophy, the Walker Cup, PGA Cup and Jacques Leglise Trophy.

Glenmuir’s outstanding shirts and knitwear will first be worn in Neguri, northern Spain, as Great Britain & Ireland’s leading amateur boys take on their Continental Europe counterparts in the Jacques Leglise Trophy on August 26-27.

Two weeks later, the very best of Britain and Ireland's amateur golf talent will wear Glenmuir when the Walker Cup is played on the Balgownie Links of Royal Aberdeen Golf Club on September 10-11.

Then the following week, GB&Ireland’s leading PGA Professionals will take Glenmuir to CordeValle Resort, California as they bid to wrestle back the Llandudno Trophy from the USA in the PGA Cup - golf’s equivalent of the Ryder Cup for PGA Pros.

And finally, the company is providing clothing for both the GB&I and Continental Europe teams in the prestigious Vivendi Seve Trophy, the precursor to next year’s Ryder Cup featuring the highest ranked European players from the World Rankings and Race To Dubai.

Glenmuir is delighted to be supporting the events and the relationship with all the teams in action further cements the company’s position at the very heart of golf.

Said Glenmuir marketing director, Brian Mair: “We are honoured to be associated with four such high-profile events.

“When you think household names like Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia have played in the Jacques Leglise Trophy, while current Tour stars including Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler and Dustin Johnson have made recent appearances in the Walker Cup, you can see why we are excited and proud to be involved at the pinnacle of the amateur game.

“We also recognise the role PGA Professionals play in the success of our business, so we’re delighted to be supporting the PGA Cup team, which is the pinnacle of many players’ careers.

“And, of course, we are all extremely excited to be providing team wear for both sets of stars in the Vivendi Seve Trophy, especially as it has such emotional significance this year following the sad death of Seve Ballesteros.”

The Vivendi Trophy takes place every two years, alternating with the Ryder Cup and takes place from September 15-18 at the Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche Golf Course. Players currently in line to play include Major winners Martin Kaymer, Darren Clarke, McIlroy, McDowell, as well as Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Migel Angel Jimenez.

Captained by Russell Weir, the players in the PGA Cup are attempting to become the first GB&I side to win on foreign soil since the contest was first staged at the legendary Pinehurst No.2 in North Carolina in 1973.

The 2011 Walker Cup will be the 43rd match between Great Britain and Ireland’s and the USA’s most talented amateurs, while the Jacques Leglise Trophy is an annual boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was inaugurated in 1958.
