With one year to go before the next Ryder Cup Matches at The K Club in Ireland, golf clothing brand Glenmuir has received a major boost to its long standing partnership with the Ryder Cup.

The Scottish based golf company, which has built up a position as one of Europe's leading golf clothing brands, yesterday signed an agreement with European Ryder Cup Team Captain Ian Woosnam to be its golf ambassador for the next three years. Glenmuir also announced that it has been appointed Preferred Supplier to the 2006 European Ryder Cup Team, and will design shirts and knitwear for Woosie's team.

Ian Woosnam will be the latest European Team Captain to sport Glenmuir's distinctive diamond logo; both Mark James and Sam Torrance were Glenmuir ambassadors whilst performing the role in 1999 and 2002 respectively. The former Masters Champion will wear Glenmuir clothing on the European Tour and at all golf related appearances, and will help the company promote its Glenmuir and Official Ryder Cup Merchandise programmes around the world.

Next year's 36th Ryder Cup Matches will be the tenth at which Glenmuir has designed uniforms for the European Ryder Cup Team. The company has been the Team's preferred supplier of shirts and knitwear since 1987, and is proud to have been a part of last year's victory over the Americans at Oakland Hills in Michigan.

Glenmuir has already begun working with Woosie to design the wardrobe for next year's European Team, and has also launched its range of Official 2006 Ryder Cup Merchandise. Demand is already spectacular over in Ireland, and is expected to grow throughout Europe during the course of the next twelve months. European fans can see and buy a selection of the range on the official Ryder Cup web site www.rydercup.com.

Glenmuir's Sales and Marketing Director Andy Bough says everybody at the company's Lanark base is thrilled with the announcements:

"Glenmuir has a long and proud association with the Ryder Cup and we are really excited to have Ian represent the brand in the run up to next year's Matches, and beyond. We are working with Ian on some great designs for next year's European Team and look forward to supporting Ian and his team at The K Club."
