While it’s a bit of a cliché that Dads love golf, the figures back it up with today’s golfers tending to be older men. So if you’re looking for a good gift for Father’s Day, then something golf related is probably a decent place to start.

Here are our tips for the golf-loving dad in your family…

Tickets to The Open
The Open takes place at Royal Birkdale this year between July 16 and 23 – making it the perfect golfing day out for Father’s Day.

And the beauty of getting tickets for such an event is that they come in a range of prices, starting from as little as £10 for Practice Days. These days still give you the chance to see some of the best golfers in the world practice their swing, and maybe even pick up a few tips while you’re there. Alternatively, you could go all out with the Weekly Ticket for £255.

Day at the course
If you can’t get to The Open, the next best option is a day out on the local course.

If they’re a member, you can treat them to lunch. If not, buy them a day pass. It’s a great way for them to spend Father’s Day, especially if you offer to be their playing partner – or even caddie – for the day.

Customised gifts
At Glenmuir, we’ve got plenty of customised gifts that are ideal for Father’s Day, like having your dad’s initials embroidered on one of our excellent tops. In fact there’s a huge range of items on our website from socks to scarves that you can add a personal touch to.

Or you could get some balls or tees personalised with his name or a motivational message.

Bottle of golf’s favourite tipple
Golfers love a bit of a drink at the 19th hole after a hard day on the course – and a favourite among many players is whisky.

To go all in with the golf theme, we suggest buying a bottle of the Old St Andrew's Golf Ball Blended Whisky. This drink is not only made in the home of golf, but also comes in a golf ball shaped bottle – perfect for impressing his golfing buddies.

Weekend bag
If you really want to spoil your dad this Father’s Day, then this is the gift for him. Our wonderful mock leather weekend bag comes with embossed Glenmuir 1891 pullers and can be personalised with his details.

Not only is this practical, but it also says to him, isn’t it time you paid a visit to that course you always wanted to play.

Ultimate golf umbrella
For the more practical golfing dads, a golf umbrella might just be what they’ve been craving. After all, if you spend your time waiting for a perfect sunny day to hit the fairway, you might never get there.

Our extra-large golf umbrella with clear viewing panels, windproof vent-cover and lightweight, flexible fibreglass frame means he’ll stay dry no matter what the weather.
