Oaks Prague, near Prague – due to open Spring 2021
PGA National Czech Republic, designed by architect Kyle Phillips, is an 18-hole course embedded in the beautiful Czech countryside. This course really is at one with nature – and not only does the setting add to the golf experience, but the project has added to the setting. A driving force was to restore the old Nebrenice Chateau, and preserve and enhance its surrounding forest, wetlands and habitat areas. The par-72 championship course has five sets of tees and can play from a total yardage ranging from 5,400 to 7,600.

Les Bordes, near Paris, France – May 2021
This new marvel will be the first course designed by American architect Gil Hanse to open in continental Europe. With a suitable name of ‘The New’, its heathland style contrasts the club’s old course. An entirely new experience in the same much-loved location. The course caters to the low-profile nature of the site, with the addition of dramatic hole features for balance. The standard par-72 layout includes large bunkers and slight elevation changes. It measures 7,211 yards from the tees – but this may feel shorter due to the firm and fast conditions.

Ban Rakat, near Bangkok, Thailand – August 2021
Also designed by Hanse, is the Ballyshear Golf Links course. This newcomer takes inspiration from an old staple. Lido Golf Club on Long Island was designed and built by Charles Blair Macdonald and Seth Raynor in 1918 – and now it’s the muse for this club’s latest wonder. Vintage design projects have never been undertaken for a golf course in Thailand before. A course that truly stands out, every hole from the original Lido has been recreated, with 16 of its 18 holes in the exact same order.

Tabori Golf & Spa Resort, Tbilisi, Georgia (Eastern Europe) - Summer 2021
This new nine-hole plan-designed course is part of a $60 million development. It neighbours the National Botanical Garden of Georgia – set to have a five-star hotel. This course is expected to attract a vast array of beginners. It plays down a ridge, has terrain to navigate and offers stunning views. Think soft touches, natural settings and wild outskirts. If that’s not alluring enough, a gondola station is also being built to carry guests to and from the centre of Tbilisi’s Old Town.

Brambles, near Middletown, California – Completion 2021
This new Coore & Crenshaw-designed Brambles course has been envisioned by architect James Duncan for the past 10 years. Think ranch-meets-English heathland. Also think big... the main property is 600 acres. Striking views can be enjoyed while golf is played – in particular the blissful Californian landscape and Mount Saint Helena. Brambles starts out on the northern side of the main valley, with a descent from the first hole. It then moves up into some oak trees along the outskirts of the property. The fifth is a blind, 300-yard hole, reachable with a drive to a sloped-away green.

These dates may be subject to change depending on circumstances.
