It is not known who won, however, Clinton clearly had a great day as he took to Twitter to share a photo of the two.
"Fantastic day in Ireland golfing with Rory McIlroy and getting to know the great work of the Rory Foundation," he wrote.
McIlroy revealed more about the match to Newstalk's 'Off the Ball' programme yesterday, telling them that Clinton is a good golfer with a handicap of around 14.
"He loves his golf. He's a decent player," he added.
McIlroy wore a bright blue golf shirt and trousers for the match, while Clinton wore a subdued ensemble of a grey sweater and sand-coloured golf trousers.
McIlroy has set up the Rory Foundation to support children's charities around the world.
