Fernandez-Castano has appeared at the event on two previous occasions and has said he is delighted to be taking to the green for the biennial contest which sees Continental Europe being pitted against Great Britain and Ireland at St-Nom-La Breteche Golf Club in Paris.
"I really enjoyed the two previous contests I played and it is important to support a tournament with Seve's name on it, not only because of what he did for Spanish golf, but for what he did for the game in Europe and the European Tour as a whole," he said.
Hanson expressed disappointment at not being able to take part in the tournament saying that his back has plagued him for most of the year and is still not 100%.
He added that he wants to be in good shape to pull on his golf clothing and defend his title at the BMW Masters in China in three weeks.
